Saitek 45 Problem
« on: January 02, 2008, 11:00:08 AM »
Hi,

played AH2 for almost a year now without any problems.

Today I installed the newest Saitek Drivers and all of a sudden I canīt calibrate the x & y axis correct in AH2. Windows calibration works fine with x & y axis, and shows full range of movement on the x and y axis.

In AH2 the dead center position is at "65535" and the full left position is at "0", pushing the stick to the right doesnīt show any result, x-Axis value stays at "65535". From a previous config-file I know that the dead center position should be at 35000 (something like that) and the full right position should be 65535.

Same with the y-Axis. It seems to work only half the way.

Wish I could remove this *§$!!-Saitek drivers but no way, and I donīt want to mess around with my registry, since calibration seem only to be a problem in AH2(?).

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated!

Already reinstalled AH2 without success though...problem still there.

Go to your settings folder and edit the saitekx52flightcontrolsystem. cfg
file using notepad. the center number should be 32767.

Thx for your reply, but it  doesnīt work. I altered that number like you suggested.

Now the elevator on the right wing is in a up-position, thats all.

Looks like AH2 thinks that the center-position of my stick equals a full right movement of the stick, so the range from 0 to 65000 is covered only by full movement to the left (value =0) to the dead center position (value=65000). Movement to the right is not recognized by AH2.

Same with y-Axis

Already tried to use standard windows drivers which where replaced by saitek-drivers but doesnīt work.

Iīm confused!

Hereīs the part of the config with the settings it produces after calibration:

Saitek X45 Flight Controller
6,34
X Axis
0,65535 (<---that should be around 34000) ,65535,0.053000,0.100000,0.250000
AXIS,ROLL,0,0
NOTUSED,NOTUSED,0,0
NOTUSED,NOTUSED,0,0
NOTUSED,NOTUSED,0,0
Y Axis
0,65535,65535,0.050000,0.100000,0.250000
AXIS,PITCH,0,0
NOTUSED,NOTUSED,0,0
NOTUSED,NOTUSED,0,0

Did you install the latest SST software? That caused me some issues.

Yes. Installed it and deinstalled it after it caused a bluescreen on startup.

Theres probably still some remains left that causes the problems I guess. Problem in AH2 disappeared yesterday, letīs see what happens after I restart my computer.

Restore. That ultimate best way to get things back to the good ole days.

I think the SST will probably work if you know how to set it up. I have never really needed it for anything or have taken the time to work with it.
