I can see a new regulation that requires additional space in the front side of GPS for a large warning sticker. Perhaps also audio instructions will have to be preceeded by a warning.

A maps only good if you know where you actually are

...But a map and a GPS is a winning combo and does make travel so much more relaxing

I mean anyone who solely relies on a little computer to turn right and turn left blindly without total focus on the road and signposts, who doesn't actually check the route before setting off to see where they are headed to and towns on the way deserves to get lost...

I use the GPS mainly for trip logging, we have some new freeway upgrades that now deviate from the original path. I used to hear "recalculating" a lot until I shut the voice prompts off.

It sounds to me like he actually turned onto the track, not crossing them, but down them. That could high center the car.

You know The Office did an episode involving this where a character drove into a lake cause his navigation system told him to turn right.

Anyone with 100 IQ points and 2 eyes can easily figure out where they are on a map.

But the GPS people felt sorry for most of britain, so they made TomTom.

Are you guys who are dissing GPS using electricity?

May I ask why? Is there something wrong using good old fire? Are you having cars? Something wrong with your horses?

Is there any hope people like you stop acting like idiots?

Couple years ago friend called me; she had problems in a city 200km away and which I don't know at all. I typed the address and GPS gave instructions, I drove thru the city like a native and picked her up.
Of course I could had stopped and buy a map, then read it for 10 minutes, stop, again read the map etc etc...
