I was chasing an A20 trying to dive bomb our field and got hit by my own ack twice. Is this new or have I been so lucky in the past 5 years?

Yup, lucky. Ive been killed by 5in shells through the canopy several times.

Its rare, but it happens.

Heh, me too. It was not the 5" ack. It does not exist 1K over a field. I got two hits from the field guns. Second one gave me a PW.

Yeah, they've hit me too. Was just giving the worst case scenario.

I've gotten hit a couple of times taking off from a field under attack and crossing the field guns line of fire.

I have one death in my 262 this tour, thanks to friendly field ack shooting me down not the lgay trying to vulch the runway. Thats some good shooting Elmer Fudd.

Just earlier today i was chasing a N1k and our base ack was shooting at him i rolled in behind him next thing i know the base ack takes off me stab's and wings.

Yup AI AA can hit friendlies..just not player controlled AA. It's rare though, I think I've had it happen to me about 3 times ever...

Had it happen numerous times. Lost flaps, rons, ele's and been PW'ed all by machine gun type field or cv ack. It's usually instigated by some suicide monkey low to the deck drawing all the ack as you attempt to take off. Only once has puffy ack got me which knocked my engine clean out. I was about 150 yrs from a con about 6k above the cv

Think i've been killed by CV ack twice and the guns on field have pinged me up a couple.
