So, since I can't get the skin to HTC that I really wanted that I did a few months back, I figured I'd fix/update the one that made it in. The original 362nd skin it wasn't perfect as it was kind of a rush job. Everytime I flew it it bugged me, that and the fact that it was kinda plain.

So....

The metal doesnt look like metal to me, you might give her a little more shine.

These shine a bit to much for AH IMO, but you can add a little of this to make it look more realistic.

Now my question is this; should it be red or yellow? I've never seen yellow around the later squadron insignia, if we can find pictures showing yellow.. it's on.

As for making the metal look more shiny, I'll never polish any aluminum on a combat ship. Look at any a/c that's seen even 1 day in combat & it's so scratched & beat up. As for making it dirty, I don't want it to look like a POS, so scratched is all right to me.

Only picture I could find is this I took it at the airforce museum. The letters look all black to me how ever the spinner is yellow. The image that was from the book is supposed to be correct even though it looks more like a white elephant instead of pink. So I would say go with the photo can't be to far from wrong.

Interesting to see the insides of the gear enclosures are painted yellow too.

Well, I'm going to err on the side of the red letter surrounds, the painting probably has some credibility w/ color being around them, and most were red late in the war.

The one thing that really stuck out was the blue instead of black on the checkerboard nose, so I fixed that & the yellow spinner (which I've darkened up since using the Simmer's Paintshop codes for USAAF yellow).

I was just looking at the picture in the book it is in fact blue you would have to look at it twice to be sure though. You may want to pink up the five by five wording like slapshot's picture my book has the elephant & wording about the same colour.

That is awesome... gives me goosebumps to watch it. Still makes me sick they destroyed the majority of the warbirds after the war was over.. :(

I'll be sending the email to Hitech shortly, flying my old skin bugs me as I keep picking out the flaws with it. Hopefully we'll also have The Trojan Warhorse soon, got an email from Hitech a couple weeks ago.

I had to use a video camera as the dvd cant be reproduced to my pc. If you get the dvd the ninth air force in color it has some of the best colour video I have seen it is crystal clear unlike my you tube clip. Also no yellow flashing around the guns so the book I have is wrong how ever the mounting points at the front portion of them look yellow.

Hey Jeep,

I flew this skin last night in the MA, and noticed that you've got the single aileron trim tab on the wrong aileron.  Your skin has it on the right aileron and it should be on the left.  So, if you're updating, may want to make that switch.

I think I screwed up & added it to both sides on the original design (it was there on the template I made). I've already corrected it per your instructions in my template thread.

Thanks though, I hate flying the skin that's in game now, I pick it apart everytime.
