"save as" function for films.
« on: January 10, 2008, 05:05:33 AM »
would be nice to be able to do a "save as" when we stop recording films in game.

easier than going to desktop and opening up the last saved film so you can note what it was.

big pain to have to do so.  hard to keep track of films as it is.

would be awesome to have it pop up in game.  maybe a command?

please and thank you.

I've needed something like that for a long time.  So in the mean time my solution has been to have a watch or clock in sight, and a pen & paper nearby with which I jot down the time anything noteworthy happens.
Then I just look thru the films, and looking at their windows creation timestamp I can pick out which films have what in them.

And if HiTech happens to read this... We still want that post-flight statistics dump..:)

yah, just seems like a whole lot of work when it could be available in game.

i don't know much about coading, but i am guessing that it might be an easy addition with alot of long term return in terms of benefits for the community.

yes.  yes.  i know...i am officially lobbying for it now.

How about a dot command to start the recording in which you can put a filename in?  Something like .film thisfight
Columbo

"When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return."

Fate whispers to the warrior "You cannot withstand the storm" and the warrior whispers back "I AM THE STORM"

seems to me that it would be better to be able to name and save after the fight...that way you would be able to add descriptors like...ipwnedskyrock or something like that.
