Allow Europeans to vote in U.S.
« on: January 10, 2008, 02:09:53 PM »
An opinion piece I suppose.

Here you go....

http://mensnewsdaily.com/2008/01/10/liberal-europeans-should-be-allowed-to-vote-in-us-elections/

What kind of country would we have if this happened?
It's been said we have three brains, one cobbled on top of the next. The stem is first, the reptilian brain; then the mammalian cerebellum; finally the over developed cerebral cortex.  They don't work together in awfully good harmony - hence ax murders, mobs, and socialism.

I read the article. The writer made the assumption that the Europeans' intended to reciprocate for voting in our elections. They did not.

But you have this sort of thing in opinion pieces...

This is just silly and only proves that stupid people are everywhere. How slow does a news day have to be for that to be newsworthy? Jeez...

The folks advocating that are either as dumb as a can of rocks, or off their rocker.

What idiot would advocate being able to vote in another sovereign nation's national elections without being a citizen of that nation?

DO Americans want the French to be able to vote in our own national elections?

HE-double-hockey-sticks-NO...

I want the French standing by at the ready in France to be able to throw up their hands and white flag at a moments notice when another country says "Boo".

The next time we're not bailing them out.

I'd just like to say that the French Resistance did a valiant job of resisting the Nazis, albeit after the French government had surrendered.
I think it would be more accurate to say:
I want the French government standing by at the ready in France to be able to throw up their hands and white flag at a moments notice when another country says "Boo".
In WWII, the French government surrendered, many of the French people didn't.

Also, could you please tell me what you mean by "bailing them out"?
Afk for a year or so.  The name of a gun turret in game.  Falanx, huh?

No thanks - I dont trust half the populace of the UK not to reinstate this current bunch of lying, cheating, stealing, incompetent, holier than thou half wits. I'd hate for that to happen to anywhere else in the world (and yep, that includes france (sorry, I just had to))

As valiant as the resistance movements in Europe were, do you honestly
believe that any of them had any chance of evicting the Nazis?  Heck, even
the Free French Army used US vehicles, equipment and small arms.

The resistance was also dependent on Allied supplies for things like
radios, small arms and explosives.

Yeah and if the french did not help us out our military would still have red coat's.

Give some... get some, WE the american people needed there help, and they gave it. They "the french people" needed help, we helped them.
What moral fiber of these bottom lines do you fail to understand?
If anything we owed them in wwII.

the US should have never invaded France in WW2, France was a peaceful country at war with no one and being defended by their friends the Germans when the US and England invaded peaceful France killing untold numbers of innocent French.
