If a child is allowed to surf the net on their own, then their parents should have had enough intelligence to pass on enough information to their children that their childrens' understanding of any type of bigotry / racism is nothing more than ignorant behavior.  I say remove the controls and institute communication between child and parent.

Porn sites, yes, facebook maybe, but history/political discussion/education? Never. Who was it that coined the term, "Those who forget the past, are doomed to repeat it"? Yes, there will be some gory shots of Dauchau, Bergen-Belsen, Aushwitz...But these are real things' that happened. To deny youth the knowledge is to set the stage for the next calamity. I could not imagine why a decent parent would say no.

In a hot debate on these boards I once inserted pics from one of the nazi camps, I think it was Dachau. Well, my input got Skuzzyfied, rule # something.
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

64kilz is about 11 years old.

I wouldn't let my 9 or 11 year olds learn about auschwitz for another few years.  I would, however, let my 13 or 15 year olds learn about it.  My own HS had field trips to those camps, and that was a great learning tool.

However, choosing timing based on age/maturity is in no way 'forgetting.'
And only his parents are the ones who know what's appropriate for him & what isn't.

*edit* I only knew how young he was from previous conversations with him, which prompted my original post.  If I hadn't have known that, though, I'd wholeheartedly agree with you Frode
