Easy to fix, follow them down, if they land kill them before they get out.
Personally if someone I've forced to ditch survives the landing, I'll give them one or two passes guns dry to get out before I send them on their way.
Ditching is not always a safe way out and if they happen to make it down in one piece they deserve the chance to ditch.

keep shooting untill they go boom or something important breaks off in which case folow them down while pumping them full of holes so you cant have your kill stolen
