Just can't argue with a Pink Spit I
« on: January 15, 2008, 01:51:09 AM »
Kev367th did this Spit I a while back.  Had some good fun vis the 109Es in the AvA tonite.

Rolls like a bus, engine cuts out all the time and shoots 303s, but a fun little kite :)

I was wondering about the engine cutting out.  First time flying this Spit in the AvA.  I thought it was my computer lag causing it.  Interesting...does roll like a bus too!

The plane is whole because as everyone knows... take off in a spit and take a nap as the plane will do most of the rest. :lol

These are the qualities that make the Spit I the only Spitfire you can fly without being ashamed to tell people that it's you.

Just in case you don't know ... the Spit I has a gravity fed carb ... so if you go inverted or cause negative Gs ... gas does not go to the carb and the engine cuts out ... until gas flows back to the carb again.

This characteristic makes flying this bird ... properly ... a true challenge.

Can anyone post a color pic of the real one?   I don't doubt it existed, just wondering when and where it was used, and by whom.
