Operation Bodenplatte?

I've been reading about this in a book I stumbled across in a book exchange.
The book I have has material from both Allied and Axis records included in it, along with transcripts of the accounts of participating airmen.
I think it would make an excellent scenario.

Ah, yes, a one-sided turkey shoot, where in-game we have to use a 1941 bomber to compete with 1945 uber planes.

I only wonder why minimum 20 pilots Ju-88? The actual attack was carried out by fighter and fighter-bomber units only. There were some Ju-88, but these were night fighters meant to lead the single engined fighters to the area of attack (overland navigation was already an issue for the badly trained German fighter pilots!). The night fighters themselves however didn't take part in the attacks, they were strictly pathfinders.

Ehm yes, but my point is: There were no bombers in Unternehmen Bodenplatte...

And I said above, the point of the Sunday Night Scramble was to have a Bomber Escort Mission. The Ju88s were to be escorted. It may have had the name Operation Bodenplatte but its still a Sunday Night Scramble and hence... The Ju88s.

I can understand the desire for such a mission, but giving it a unappopriate name of a real-world operation along with a detailed description of that real world event is at least misleading. I find it rather strange. It's a hypothetical event and should, in my opinion, be labeled as such. Or just have the event description modified. (After all we in AH are bashing History Channel for much lesser inaccuracies  )

Would be the same as if there was a mission "Attack on Pearl Harbor", along with the description of the real events of 1941, then giving the Japanese side Ki-67's without any further comments...
