For those who's bodily functions release when they see an "evil, black AR-15", someone designed one that will make you feel all warm inside.

A guy built and painted it for his wife. They make a lovely couple. You can follow the conversation on the Calguns.net forum link:

DIGG also picked it up:

To make it California legal, you can not have a pistol grip with a droppable magazine. So, someone came up with a grip (MonsterMan Grips) that allows you to have a non-thumb grip and keep detachable mags.

that's similar to the retarded regs that apply to a rig like the ar15 for most shooters in new zealand. the bayonet lug and flash hider would have to go and mags are limited to 7 rounds or less, they are detatchable but they can't be physicaly large enough to hold more than 7 rounds.. no spacers or blocks in larger cap mags allowed.

free standing pistol grips arn't allowed either but thumbhole stocks are ok. a cheaper and easier way to solve the problem is to attach a link bar between the bottom of the factory grip and the butt. it's stupid but the grip is not considered free standing when the link bar is permantly attached to the rifle. it appears if you do nothing else except make a gun ugly enough the ignorant jerks who create the regs will consider it less evil.

and that pink ar, garish beyond belief

can any gun control nut please tell me how a pistol grip stock...  or.. not having one makes the world safer or less safe for all humanity?

Bat.. the "kick" from an ar is not really even noticeable..  you could fire it with the stock resting on your jewels and not be discomfitted.

I remember an instructor doing just that (or a really good spoof) as part of the initial familiarization with the M-16 in basic. That, and shooting an ammo can full of nasty holes to show that, if you weren't careful, you could do more than put an eye out with one of those things :)

The first thing I noticed is the inability to change the fire/safe selector with your thumb.

How does that make this weapon "safer"?

Lazs,

Guns that look like this are scary and make people kill each other:

Guns that look like this, however, are more normal and less scary:
