Saitek ST290 "over-sensitive"
« on: January 18, 2008, 10:51:10 PM »
The problem is WAY too much sensitivity with the ST290. Get alot of "don't move controls too rapidly" msgs, and when attempting to gun down a target get wild swing motion back and forth.. this is REALLY frustrating with a target at 400-600 feet... should be TOAST, but I can't aim to hit target!

Sometimes recalibrating helps, sometimes not.

ST290 is plug-n-play. Have tried unplug/replug, sometimes this helps.

Sound like a bad stick, or is there something I can do?

Thanks,

up your dampening slider on each axis a little at a time until that goes away .

you may have to up the deadband too .

are u using any scaling? the stick has a short pull compared to the x52 mine worked fine after i scaled it where i wouldng bounce around.
could be a bad stick but try scaling dampening anything then take it back and try another

Ok, I recalibrated st290 'pro' from the peripheral settings in computer. Don't see how adjust dampening?

Still get a wild swing left-right back and forth when trying to turn left or right get target in crosshairs. seems to be worst when turning left.

Probably just a bad stick. Will try again.

Talon,to adjust dampening and such,go into controls, and then map controllers..click on the axis you want to adjust then click the box which says ADVANCED,this will bring you into your adjustments whcih you are wanting to change..

I have a ST290 pro... yes the axis is loose if you've been using something like a logitech...

But it's actually easy to aim with... It sometimes move by itself, but that's rare. The axis is super loose, as you can notice.  Just take some time and get used too it, and try not to move it around to much.

Haven't got a " don't move the stick so rapidly" msg is a LONG time.

And i've had my ST290 pro for 5months.
