I play with guns, its part of my job description.

I also get to play with chains, handcuffs, and chemical agents.

Whats your point?
Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.

Unfortunately, many, many do not know that.

Can you carry a weapon?  Concealed Carry?

Do you have to declare a reason to purchase a gun?

Do you have to maintain or prove activity level to own guns?

Can you buy a full auto weapon?

Is there much red tape involved to buy a gun in Norway?

Is Norways laws typical and representative of the majority of other European countries?

Why did you question the statement that ththe people of the USA are a free people?

I don't want to be a jerk, but that statement is pure opinion.

Need proof?  Back up that statement with facts and evidence.  To start, show in a factual nature that guns have no entertainment value, and that guns are in fact more hazardous than other objects that are considered "toys" or are "played with".  Examples of these other objects are motor vehicles and any small object that children might choke on.

Then add consideration to public education efforts taken on behalf of people who use these objects, and enforcement efforts taken to ensure safe behavior.  Examples include measures taken to ensure safety at gun shows, shooting ranges, public freeways, and off-road vehicle parks.  Examine the effectiveness of these measures, and the injury/fatality rates.

That sort of comparison makes guns look like a lot safer "toy" than almost any recreational motor vehicle.
Everyone I know, goes away, in the end.

Wow, how the heck did a simple thread about some spinning pieces of wood and flying rubber bands go this far south so quick?

Oh yeah, people keep bringing pointless and unrelated political arguments where they don't belong and ruining it for the rest of us, how silly of me.

No.. no need for anyone

No

No..

No need for anyone

No, not really

Dunno, but i havent heard of any country in europe were you cant buy a gun if you want one

I questioned the statement, because beeing able to carry a gun does not have to have anything to do with freedom. I could claim that i have the freedom not to encounter others with concealed weapons and i can also claim that i have more real freedom because i do not have the same need for a gun to protect myself as many americans say they do. ;)

Nope.

Hunters, sport shooters and other intersted people have guns but they dont need to carry them around and prolly dont want to either. I mean, who the heck wants that thing in your pocket all day.

So Nilsen, when you cast a questioning word regarding freedom in the USA, I can say I never served or was required to serve in the military, or in any government service.  Do Norwegians enjoy that same freedom of choice?

Really, Norwegian men are not required to serve the military or the government now when they are young men?
