Back in the air
« on: January 19, 2008, 03:08:38 PM »
I resubscribed last night, after over a year or so of being gone.  Things haven't changed too much... except for the faces.  Maybe it's the new multi-arena setup that means the old faces are spread out over 4 arenas.  I had a blast for a couple of hours in the mid-war arena, even though I was lone wolfing it the whole time.

I know who still posts on the board... but who's flying?  Any of the old crew be interested in winging up with a rusty veteran who has a thing for 190's and mid-war 109s?

I also didn't recognize any squads (except the AKs, but even then didn't recognize any particular names)... so any of the old squads still around?

Sick Puppies are still around, mostly in the late war arenas as far as I know but I haven't flown since October.

No, Chris kinda dropped off of the face of the virtual AH earth.  He popped in once a year or two ago and posted, but I haven't heard anything from him.  A lot of the old squad faces from JV44 and 3/JG2 disappeared.  Lazerus is MIA, too.

I still have Chris's old phone number from the 2003 con (was that 02 or 03?); his old email address doesn't work anymore though.

Muppets are still around; what about the 13th TAS guys or JBs?

Yeah I do.. Been burnt out the last few days though. Played Il2 a lot, and although it sucks, the graphics coming back to AH are turning me off a bit.
We'll hook up if you aren't burnt out yourself yet (!).. I need a few more days.

what about the 13th TAS guys
====
Hey Tarmac,

Ive been back for a few tours now as "DeVice" playing mostly mid war.  (have taken several 6+ months breaks over the last several years).  Saw sax a few weeks ago.  Flew a sortie with rude a few subs back but haven't seen him, toad or beemer in awhile.  Most of the 13th guys are playing americas army last I heard.

Although the game hasn't changed much, the community sure has.  Lots of younger players (teens and less it seems based on all the pre pube squeeking on vox) and a lot of the people seem to be here more for the console type "audios amigos" type game experience than to try and experience what happened back in the air war of the early-mid 40s.  I might be off on that, just an observation.

42 was MIA for almost 2 years, and just popped back in around the holidays...

most of the other JB's you'd know are gone or new names. 35 became Thirty5 and haven't seen him in forever, 11 became ElevenK and was one of the premier 109 sticks for a while and since dropped off the face of AH too.

3 of them are now muppets, Xargos, 88, and TrueKill.

there's like 2 or 3 "active" JB's in game, and I think over the holidays 42 re-formed the squad, but I haven't been flying much the past few weeks to really tell.

a bunch of the TAS became BK's, and many of them haven't been active in years.
I don't know what to put here yet.

Stang, you still flying?

Gimme some time to remember how to fly 190s, then some more time to remember how to fly that fat pig 152 and then you'll get your wish. :)
