Killing GVs in Indestructible Objects

If a ground vehicle moves into an indestructible object can it be killed by bombing the indestructible object?  That was a situation I ran into in the MA last night.  An Ostwind moved into the indestructible object by the hangar pad on a small field.  The icon was clearly visible.   I was flying a P51 with 1,000lb bombs and rockets which is enough ordinance to destroy a hangar.  A squad mate encouraged me to bomb the indestructible object.   I hit the indestructible object with my rockets but missed with my bombs.  If I had hit with both bombs and all 6 rockets would I have killed the Ostwind even though the building could not be destroyed?  

Does anyone know why there are indestructible object at bases and in towns?

yes they can be killed when hiding in the indestructable hanger.

just drop a bomb on 'em

Same applies if an enemy GV is hiding in a hanger on a friendly field.  Your ord will not damage the hanger, but will KO the vehicle hiding inside.

Dive right in on indestructable. Drop bombs.

Lancstukas should be a very easy proble to solve, that is, if you can shoot at all, cause, I do believe this was the lancasters belly gun...

Indestructables on fields are where you go when you click the "Hanger" (not H) button on the clipboard.
