In their ever widening search for illegal aliens the City of Farmer's Branch is now targeting every person that rents. Just because you don't want illegal aliens in your town is no reason to invade the right to privacy of every person in the name of your witchhunt.

Talk about your Nazi's wanting papers...

There was a news story here in Houston from a couple of days ago.  It appears the coyotes (the POS's that traffic illegals across the border) were housing the illegals in an apartment stripped of their clothing so they couldn't run away.  Something about guaranteeing they get their payment.  I'm think if they're naked how the **** are they going to work to earn money?

No.

But there are plenty of 'interesting' films I haven't seen either.

It's worth watching. One of the storylines revolves around illegals and coyotes.

Ok.

But what the hell does that have to do with getting obese on Big Macs?

Oh, nevermind.  I'm thinking of Supersize Me.

My bad.

Proud to see the illegal problem is being taken seriously for a change.
It could be handled for the most part by actualy enforcing laws already in place.
So...........are they going to put a Closed sign up in Plano?  :rofl

A bit on the local news last night. Sonora Mexico is having to start making plans to support all of the illegals returning because of the new work law implemented in Arizona. They are complaining about having to take care of their own people instead of the US doing it for them.

Where's Mr No Name?  I'd think he'd cheer this, because his posts seem to suggest that illegals are on par with suitcase nukes in terms of immediate danger.

"To hell with your quaint 'constitution', search ALL the apartments!  One of them might be here!"

blah blah blah illegals don't have rights blah blah blah, the problem here of course is all the legit citizens having their apartments searched.

No..the people of Plano have forbidden any and all signage.  They don't want to advertise they have "illegals".

They are hoping that they can be so snobby and self-important that anyone who is entering their Burb will want to leave immediately:huh

Overall personal Privacy is not a big concern for me.  The things I want kept private are private and those things that I have no control over are mitigated with my right to keep and bear arms.  As long as I can point a gun barrel at the face of my instigators I am not worried.  Take away my right to pursuade you to leave me alone and I get hell worried real fast.

And yeah......keep talking about loss of privacy, cant do any harm.

So, heres my list of important things:

Right to keep and bear arms

Everything else falls into place quite nicely.

Not to address the immigrant side of this story, I can't believe home-owners/landlords didin't object to this more strongly.  If I live in a metropolitan area and am renting, am I, a potential client more or less inclined to rent in Farmers Branch if I have to go apply for a license before I rent your apartment.  I'm curious as to any studies on rental vacancies before and after the 2006 city ordinance was enacted.  To me it would seem the tax-paying, law abiding landlords are harmed with this.  Sort of like my current place of residency, they ban business signage larger than 3x4 feet and no higher than 5 or 6 feet.  Due to the business unfriendly nature of my city, the adjoining city has a booming business community while ours is a pure bed-room community.  Try doing city improvements without million dollar companies providing a large portion of that bill.
