I don't see all that much difference between all of these politicians. I mean... really... come on.  They're all americans, all want to [basically] do what they think is 'best' for the greater american population.  

Some of them are just nuttier than others in what they think is 'best.'  And some of them are just nuttier than others in the methods they'd like to use to get to that 'best' arrangement.

You've been in enough of the Ron Paul threads to know that's what a lot of people see in him.  If you don't see it in him though, I'm not going to convince you in this thread.

I disagree, though, with you assertion that they are really doing what they think is best for America.  I think they make a compromise between what they think is best for both them (as an individual politician) and for the country.

If a politician was really doing what was best for America, he would basically get up on a podium and say something to the effect of "eat your vegetables."  No voter wants to hear that, even though it's desperately needed in this country, so very few politicians say it.  

Most people in this country know that something is wrong (we all see different things broken), and it is not getting better.  We may not all agree on what it is, but I really wish the politicians reflected this enough to get up there and have a debate about what it means to  eat some political veggies rather than just promising us more political candy and junkfood.

Well, to really understand politicians, you really need to watch their bank accounts.  

When a politician can enter the system poor as the rest of us, yet leave a billionaire, you know something is wrong.

You are right that there isn't much difference in the politicians tho.. they all just want to be the next American idol.    

You are wrong to say that they want what is best for America...  Maybe paul.. the rest.. they want what is best for them.

Politicians don't give an at's rass about what's good for the nation or its people. All they do is bend over so they can be reamed by the Party Line, and all they care about is whatever Special Interest the Party is is trying to climb in bed with.
