can we pleeeeeeeeeeese have a sonic boom when we reach supersonic speeds?

There are no supersonic speeds unless the game is abused. Above 40-50k the atmosphere doesn't work right (a flaw in the model) and do you really think you could fly a WW2 design up into the outer edges of space itself (70-90k) as is done when making these "mach 1 breaking" attempts in-game?

No WW2 design could break the speed of sound, and any that do in this game is just a flaw in the game itself, and usually under gamey conditions or offline screwing with the wind.


So, no. No sonic boom, because none of these planes can go supersonic.

Man!?!?!  Crap!!!  You gave it away and you know we agreed not to!    No everyone will be doing it.

The F-86 could only break the sound barrier in a dive and it was not recomended for pilots to attempt the manuver as the plane did become unstable at those speeds. Also the Bell X-1 was the FIRST aircraft to break the sound barrier in level flight and did so almost a year before an F-86 managed to do so in a power dive, so NO the F-86 was not the first supersonic aircraft.

Also unless we get a Korean War server we will NEVER see the F-86 in this game. It didn't go into service untill well after WWII was over.

It would be a nice, if useless addition to the game, and would make me very happy when I'm diving from 90K in whatever I managed to get up there.

Probably wouldn't be too difficult to code either.
