I really miss building & hosting custom maps.  That was half of my AH fun.  The Terrain Editor forum is all but dead now.  I thinks it's worth an extra $5 per month or so.

Or $5 a month for H2H-only subscribers. No extra fee for MA subscribers.

I hate to interrupt the very intriguing conversations that are going on but I'd like to respond to the OP...

Paid H2H would be a welcome addition, sortof like EA's option of renting your own Battlefield server.  Might be just what the doctor ordered for the old AvA members.

Paid H2H is possible but HTC has to develop a new COAD that automatically bans people who does something illegal with the software, kinda like the anti-cheat code used on Counterstrike.

Man I miss hosting plane matchups with ultra-realism settings.

(this is 1k3 btw from H2H :) )

I'd cough up an extra $5.00 per month for an H2H arena that was launched through the AH server so we wouldn't have that suspicous crap that doomed the previous version of H2H.

Yah, that's the only way it WOULD come back, running on HT-controlled-owned-operated servers. Not sure how one would be able to define 'host' though
