Paid H2H arenas
« on: January 31, 2008, 08:02:49 AM »
If they came up with H2H arenas that you could have say 35 people or so join, I would be happy to pay another $15. a month for it.

Set up add ons to your acct., H2H could be one of them, heck they used to give it away free, if I could set an arena up and have 35 or so of my friends join it and do as we please in there, that would be worth another $15 to me.
And it would be an untapped source of revenue to HTC, people who don't want to host an arena and aren't interested don't have to opt for the add on charge, they could even charge an additional $ 2. or $3. a month for anyone who would like to fly in the Paid H2H arenas, these charges could be all elective add on's to your acct.

It would basically be the same way you add additinal channels to your cable service.

I may be wrong, but I suspect the biggest problem with H2H wasn't its being free. I think it was a matter of the intensive supervision it required, and the small size of the HTC staff. I seem to remember that HT said he viewed it as a marketing tool which ended up getting dropped because it cost more (in headaches and employee time) than it was worth.

Charging for it would remove its marketing plus completely, and since its not the core product for a company with limited production resources, I suspect its gone for good.

HTC staff did mention they were considering bringing it back for a fee of $5 a month.

$5 a months would be about right for what H2H is about. What is really needed is a select few monitors that can recognize players that don't be long in our community. I was one of the first to point out to Hitech what was going on. To this day i still think that one bad apple could have been picked and H2H would still be around.

Give some old vets the ability to set up servers. This will allow hitech to sleep at night  knowing that their is some level of knowledge and consistency instead of a rat 13 year old kid playing with their code.

What H2H had was the ability to create a fight on custom maps and not allow people that wouldn't play by the host rules.

I would be more than happy to help out for a project to bring back H2H..

Actually what i'm suggesting would be an option you could sign onto, that would let you set up a H2H room as B4.

Except rather then the 8 player limit it would have a higher limit so as to let an entire squad plus a few in.

The rest of H2H would be as it was B4, that way U could boot anyone you wanted to, and only let those in with your permission.

H2H was great for filming in piticular. but it's just a thought.

I really don't care HOW they do it (HTH Hosting)...just DO IT. :)  I had a conversation with the "powers that be" back in Oct. of last year and he indicated that  "It is not beyond the realm of possibility we would offer 8 player to paying subscribers". SO, don't be surprised IF sometime in the "not too distant future" HTH returns in one form or another...just hope it returns before my "arthur-i-tis" prevents ANY game play:(

If this $5 was added to my $16.03 a month, I'd say no... Unless it came with a B-29, He-111, A26, and a Christen Eagle II.   :aok

Hi.  I'd like you to meet my friend.  His name is Sarcasm.  You must not have met him before.

He's a great friend of mine.  We are usually together, like Clinton (either one) and integrity.  Teddy and Chappaquiddick's Safest Driver of the Year award.  Britney and discretion.  Skyrock and humility.

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about.

Same here, the only contribution I can't make at the time being is coding. That knowledge doesn't exist in this head.
