bare minimum what i have

nvidia geforce 6200 oc 256 mg
100$ or less at best buy
not great
not even wonderful
but enough to run the game better than an internal card.

Just built my system using an EGVA Geforce 7600GT 256 meg card from NewEgg. Final cost after mail-in rebate was $69. I'm getting max refresh rate in AH, which is the only gaming I do. So far I'm very pleased with the card.

I myself got a Nvidia PNY 7600GS 512MB few months ago when it was $150 which you can get now under $100.

Ive only got 512MB system RAM and I am able to run high res on the highest settings without going under 70 FR.

for what it's worth...have read where a few folks have advised staying away from the GS cards...also that EGVA is superior to PNY

Here's some useful information. You don't need a top of the line card to run Aces High. Try comparing the cards in your price range.

The 2600 PRO is one of those cards that receives very little press, but when you stop and have a hard look at it, you might see a diamond in the rough. While we were watching the prices of high-end cards, 2600 PRO prices dropped as low as $70 at online retailers. For that low price, you're essentially getting an underclocked 2600 XT, a solid baseline gaming card. If you do light gaming, or you can't afford any better, the 2600 PRO is a good choice.

This card's biggest competitor would be the better-performing 7600 GT. The 7600 GT is a good buy at the $90 price point, but that's so close to the $100 Radeon 2600 XT and Geforce 8600 GT that I find it difficult to recommend over the newer cards, which offer excellent HD video acceleration.

Seconded. Put this card in my wifes rig, and it will play POTBS, Red Orchestra, COD4, all at well above average graphics settings, shadows ect without a hitch. Around 70 bucks now as well.

Oh, runs AH at around 60 FPS/ 40 fps (Hi/Low). Needed to make sure its a suitable backup for my rig as well.

Read that same article several times and couldn't come to terms with purchasing the 2600 pro. So I upped it a tad and purchased he Radeon HD 3850. The same article said this is the sweetest deal of them all as far as performance and cost. It was less than $200 on Newegg.com. Believe me it was an internal argument that I debated for about 2 weeks on. A $100 bucks more can be a budget breaker. However I had a bonus in my pocket that needed spent.

Won't get it until next week.
