Meaning that the Germans should have spawned to the 'Engagement Area' and the Russians should have been the ones driving to that location at risk.

1)  Base captures were considered, and discarded, as both the mechanics of the map (i.e. vehicle spawns, base types, etc.) and our desire to avoid the MA land-grab mindset encouraged us to not go that route.  Not to say that it won't be done in the future, but after I do some thinking on how to better structure the GV component, I'll have a better read on how to capitalize on an objective based GV portion.

2)  The mechanics of the vehicle spawns versus their historical role was a compromise used to create some tempo after realizing the frame 1 spawn mechanics weren't going to work.  Instead of redoing all the EA's (which would impact the proximity of airfields and potentially make me recreate the entire field and spawn list), I opted for this as a quick fix that would allow me to get the Frame 2 objectives published and disseminated as quickly as possible.  I agree that the roles seemed to be reversed, but since we were already using Finnish battlespace to have enough room for everything, I decided this was an acceptable technique to create the battles I intended.  Again, after some reflection, I'll be able to better anticipate some of these mechanical issues to better represent my interest in preserving a credible portion of the historical aspects of the setup.

Hats off to stoney and the rest of the staff. This use of armor was a real milestone in the FSO series. Perhaps this could be used again in a North African scenario. Objectives could taken and if held carried over into the next frame creating a fluid front. At any rate, this effort has definitely put the FSO ahead of the curve.

It was my first FSO, I enjoyed it, even though I didn't last very long.

North Africa would be cool.  Then I could play the part of the Desert Fox.

North Africa would definitely be another suitable theater for GV's in FSO, but I think we're going to need to get some more vehicles in the set before we could do anything there that resembled a historical setup.  Panzer III's, Grants, some of the British tanks, etc.

I agree.  So are there any plans for British armor in the near future?

Agreed…….50mm Pak anti tank guns, 88mm flaks and the halftracks to tow both of them. Matilda tanks, P-40F’s with Merlin engines, C-200’s……how cool that would be  :aok

Oh yeah, I almost forgot....Ju-52's, gotta have those.

And lets not forget the Italian tanks with the three reverse gears and the one forward gear (in case of attack from the rear).:D
