I use a Asus M2N SLI MB with my AMD 64 X2 6400. It runs a bit hot, but that may be more from the cpu than from the motherboard.
  50-60c with a Thermaltake V1 cooler. Water cooling got it down to 40-50c.

 Heres my build;
 Asus M2N SLI MB
 AMD X2 6400 3.2 Ghz CPU
 Gigabyte Water cooling
 4 G Ram
 150 G WD Raptor 10,000 RPM HD
 2- BFG 8800 GTX OC Video Cards
 750 Watt PS

 FPS in AH 200+

 Over kill for AH. Quite noisy but great for other video intensive games. I have used ECS boards in the past and also have not had good results. A good solid MB is insurance. Don't skimp here. I will probally upgrade mine to a 680 or 780 eventually.

Here's the board I purchased for my e8400. Not sure how it will work but had good ratings. Just received the shipment today.
