Tried my hand out at my first D-25 with some inspiration from lyric1 (thanks for the pics by the way). Still got lots of work left, but I think it's coming out pretty good.

This ship was lost to flak & bellied in on 11/07/44. The pilot (R.L. Coffey with 6 air to air kills) attempted to destroy the airframe after he escaped by burning the cockpit. A photo of the ship was found on a captured German soldier.

So, here is my latest work in progress...

I had more pics but through the miracle of computers, they disappeared when transferring to my jump drive.. oh well. I'll post more when I get closer to completion.

You forgot to skin the superturbocharger exhaust under the tail. There's a point on the bitmap that covers this, and it's showing up yellow-green in the screenshots. It should match the stripes, as the photos have it.

I was wondering who was gonna spot that. I use the yellow to ID parts on the template when I put it in game. That way I know what color, etc. it needs to be. On the supercharger duct, I left it yellow to see how it was oriented so I could put the stripes on facing the right way.

I'll be revamping/finishing this tonight hopefully...

So, after throwing away the entire file & starting over, (yes, intentionally) this is what I've got so far:

Still lots of work left, but getting pretty close.

Ok, 99.999% done (until I find something else I missed, like the rondels on both wings).

Guess Fester's words still ringing in my ears about a previous skin I did is pushing me to do better.

Looks like it was painted with clear brown paint. Too much IMO. Also the fuselage has more than the wings, and you can see they're much more blue tinted and the fuselage has a dim, dull, brown layer over all of it.

Just one opinion.

This is my favorite of your Jugs, Jeep.

This is a great side-by-side.   Coupla thoughts based on the comparison-
the shadowing after the cowl flaps seems a bit strong.   Skinners need to use shading techniques like this to create the appearance of a 3D surface, but as you can see in the photo, the shadow doesn't show at all.   Just wondering if it would look as good if it were a little narrower?

It also looks like the Coffee's Pot noseart might be a tad large compared to the pic.

Did this a/c really have the Star & Bar on both upper wing surfaces?

btw, I think your tail control surface shading looks superb.

Your skins are going to have me spending a lot of time in the Jug, man!
