just installed this game from disk and every time I open it it starts building caches etc, The message says it only does it the first time this version is run unless certain video changes are made. I haven't changed any thing and It happens every time and it takes forever. any ideas?

first thing that comes to mind is. are you stopping it before it finishes? if so it will start all over the next time you try to play. If you havent done that, I know of no other reason it might do that again every time since you have changed nothing.

Anti-virus programs can cause it. If the 'cache' directory got marked as read-only in the game's installation folder it would cause it as well.

Some file security programs can cause this to occur.

If you never let it finish, then it will always start over.

Seems to be working ok now, guess it just had to do it the first several times.
