Holding him responsible and looking for the root cause of his anger are NOT mutually exclusive ideas.

It is absolutely not the appropriate response either...again I agree with you, but it might help to EXPLAIN the response rather than simply assuming it was unprovoked and that he is an animal.

He may well be a complete idiot and an a-hole.  I don't know...do you?  Or are you making assumptions based on news stories?

Dynamite...LOL!!!!

Curval,

I think if you look at it again, neither of my posts are based on assumptions. I was pointing out that quite a bit has been posted that is not supported by the article in question.

Unless the individual was responding to an attack, physical force is not warranted, certainly not jumping someone from behind.

I also did not refer to the individual as an animal, idiot or a-hole. I believe I refered to him by his name as mentioned in the article.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

pretty hard to have a high opinion of someone who would participate in a gang beating of one person by 6.

there are situations where this would be perfectly acceptable but our feral friend  and his cohorts do not fit this category..   it isn't like they were attacking a skyjacker or robber or rapist.  in fact.. it was far more likely that they would fit into those categories.    I would have to see their records of course tho to make that claim but the stats are on my side.

Completely aside from who this guy is and what the merits are in this instance....

IMO, if you flatten someone's tires, and the result is that person giving you an asswhooping, you have no complaint.

I also do not believe in "fighting fair". Anyone who has an asswhooping coming doesn't necessarily deserve a chance to fight back.

cuero..  Do you really think that 6 on one is ok?   Do you think attacking someone from behind that you did not ever see do anything to you is right?

Even if you do believe that any slight is good enough reason to gather up 6 buddies and jump someone..   or.. that if you suspect someone of slashing your tires.. you should be able to ambush him....

The law does not..  believe me.. it is hard enough to get out of an assault charge (least used to be) if you fight fair but win..  "excessive force"  "intent to cause grave bodily injury" believe me.   even if attacked.
