I'm guessing Minnesota (Minneapolis in particular) would be my kind of place, since I love working in the deep freeze at my super market (-20 with a constant frost --- though said frost really speeds up the rate of frostbite).

And not to mention the fact that I deride people here for putting on jackets when it's only 54 outside and *sunny*. I put on a light jacket when it gets below freezing, and I usually don't need much more than that even when I hit the deep freeze out back (though like I said, frostbite's accelerated, so mittens or gloves are usually worn).

Minnesotan (or Canadian) at heart, I guess.

Rosemount, Minnesota here.  Supposed to hit -40 wind chills on Sunday last I heard.  That's a bit cold :)

I lived in New Orleans for a couple years.  It always cracked me up to see folks dressed like it was 40 below when it was 40 above.  Not even sweatshirt weather yet and they'd have winter jackets, gloves, hats and scarves on.

Had to come back home to raise the kids

Not a Minnesotan, but saw Steven Colbert the other day talking about Obama winning the Minnesota primary. He explained it by showing a clip of "the number one Home boy, Garrison Keiller," with hip hop playing in the background.

The punch line came a moment later, when he received a "fax from the NAACP" sending a Cease and Desist order since "Garrison Keiller..yada yada yada...is the whitest man alive..."
