VP Dick Cheney is back hunting again at the same Texas ranch where he accidentally shot fellow quail hunter Harry Whittington.   ( Whittington has long since recovered, but spent 6 days in a hospital after the shooting.  )  According to reports, the ranch has a bumper crop of quail this year.

Cheney will spend most of Sunday hunting quail, and then fly back to Washington, DC in the late afternoon.

When asked about Harry Whittington, the ranch owner said that he was unable to attend this year's hunt.

It is not known who is hunting with the Vice President this time.   The ranch owner said that this was a private visit, and that there would be no further public statements made.

Here is the story:

I thought the accident was overblown to proportions never heard of, most likely because of the hatred by the left when Republicans hold office.

If you hunt enough years, you become victim of stray shot in the air (perhaps not as close as the VP's buddy got it though)  I've heard shot land around me a couple of times. A good hollaring, and the offending parties realize there's someone in a blind near them, and problem solved.

Maybe he could invite hillary. The other option is for hillary to go on a drive with ted.

Or it could be that the Vice President of the United States shot someone in the face and torso with a shotgun and, go figure, people were intrigued so the media & comedians milked it for all it was worth.

Yeah, a good hollering ... 6 days in the hospital, including ICU, and a cardiac cath to treat the a-fib and heart attack caused by the pellet in the heart ... problem solved.

I know what Ripsnort was saying Myelo, I too have heard stray shot landing around me. It sounds like it is raining.

Granted it wasn't like when Cheney accidentally shot his hunting partner though.

Even with all his bad press, the VP's friends still stand behind him.

When he's hunting, several yards behind him.
