SAPP taking off training for 38s

Last one since I'm an insomniac tonite and when I'm that tired, Aces High seems even sillier then normal

Mensa is giving the demonstration of proper taking off technique this time.  I was kind of hard on him about his landing effort but he's taken to taking off like a duck to wa...er...well a shotgun blast.

Here is the start of the roll.  Mensa nicely out front and leading our two ship flight of 38Gs.


Hopefully he'll elaborate on his thoughts at the time.  I'm not positive what he was attempting here but it might be that he was checking ground distance with his rudders.  Just a slight tap seemed to be enough


I believe he was also concerned with the ground in front of his plane so he then daintily dipped his nose.


Clearly there was a problem with the runway he wasn't passing on to me as he then decided dual rudder removal was in order.


This seemed to encourage him to continue the take off roll as he then attempted a front summersault with mixed results.

The roll began to change at the point as I attempted to get over him while his 38 began to drift towards what I assumed was the 45 degree wing dig into the runway.


This was accomplished with mixed results


Both wings were removed somewhere in the roll and he attempted to bury the 38.


Ths only resulted in his take off and landing being concluded in a very short time.  To his credit he ended up in the center of the runway...kinda

Lmao......with these and the landing pics, I've just had to clean my desk up big time - brownie bits plastered to the screen n all that gooky stuff.

I always knew Mensa would make good!  He's finally mastered getting his 38 to look just like Corkie's, but he can get it done without even taking off!

Here's another aspect to credit:  after all of that, he still has his props intact and spinning. Really, what he's left with is a clipped-wing P-38 -- probably for better high-alt top-end speed and improved diving performance.
