Wonder if the 3+ AH Women....

I know that there were 2 Russian female aces.  I read that in a book of mine.

I'd think it would be like a dream come true!!

Just think, a little man that she can control, and make him do whatever she wishes, go where she wants, when she wants, with no back-talk, and she can even smack him into things if she desires!

I think there were three major Russian female combat groups in WWII

One was the Night Witches bomber unit, another were day bombers or something, not sure if they carried the witches name.

Then you had the fighter group :)  the 586th IAP if I recall correctly ...  Neat to read about these women ....

Katya Budanova and Lily Litvak, the only two female aces in the entire 100-year history of air combat.

Both were shot down and killed.

At least in the case of Lily Litvak, the Germans hunted her and killed her deliberately because of who she was.  Her final fight was essentially her vs. a whole unit of Bf109s and though she fought well, they wore her down.  It wasn't like how, say, Brendan "Paddy" Finucane bought it at all.

even so.....the air force did studies after the war..and it was proven that there were more "potential" female fighter pilots than men....and i think it's a proven fact that in general women have much quicker reflexes than men..........again, not sure......buttttt............ ....

I've heard that women are better able to withstand G forces than men because of their builds, but I doubt their reflexes are any better.  Also, a big negative in WWII fighters would be a woman's strength, but in modern fly-by-wire fighters it becomes a non-issue.

Actually there were lots of women flying combat in WWII.  The russians had lots of female pilots flying about everything they had.

There were a few German test pilots during WWII as well.

I think the most famous was Beate Uhse...if only for the fact that after the war, she basically because quite the business women.  If you wanna guess what she was into, you need only go the Beate Uhse Sex Museum in Berlin.

The Soviets had a bunch of women in combat roles.  There was a female manned anti-aircraft gun unit at Stalingrad that got pressed into service for use in ground warfare - they held out for a bit before the Germans overran them.

I couldn't really care if they had a woman pilot that you could choose for AH...I would probably never take the time to choose it.:)
