I was in a b25 shooting m3's.... I hit one on the move from 1.5 out...
I didn't really think anything of it...  Till i was in the truck navigating with GPS   I switched to metric just to see what 1.5 was like in RL

1.5  is a long freaking way in RL just did not realize how far it was.

As an aside, the distances are in yards, not meters, although it's not a great difference.

Anyway, yeah, hitting something on the fly from nearly a mile out is a pretty good trick.

Plinking M16s from 1.5yds out is one of my favorite things to do with the pumpkin chucker. :D

You also have to remember, that due to the FOV limitations, objects in AH appear much smaller at the indicated distance than they should be. So an M-16 that's a little black dot at a mile out in AH, would be much larger and more detailed IRL.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.
