Back in the eighties I was listening to Zeppelin and the Beatles.  I've only recently conceded that there were a few good songs from that era.

"Don't Dream it's Over" -Crowded House
"Voices Carry" -Til Tuesday
"Cuts Like a Knife" -Bryan Adams

I'm sure there's more...

Trying to remember the 80's... some of my albums (someday I'm going to rip these to my hard drive..)

Scorpions, Def Leppard, Zebra, Led Zepellin, AeroSmith, Huey Lewis and the News, Genesis, Alan Parsons Project, Moody Blues, Pat Benatar, Bon Jovi, Boston, The Cars,  Cheap Trick, The Eagles, Dire Straits, Fleetwood Mac, Van Halen, The Kinks, Night Ranger, Blue Oyster Cult, Queen, Robert Palmer, Quarterflash, Styx, Little River Band, Supertramp, Heart, Warrant, Areo Speed Wagon,  April Wine, ZZ Top, Pink Floyd, Heavy Metal soundtrack, .... more that I cant remember right now...
How could I forget Ac/Dc....

some people bash the 80's for its music but really there's a lot of stuff out there that was pretty good.

Had great fun on a concert with those above as well as those, in the same night in 1986......

And what a smashing night that was!
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

When it comes to 80's tunes, it's wide open. But when it comes to 80's videos... It's all about Peter Gabriel.

I was born in 1978, so the 1st half of the 80's was completely lost on me.  Plus I lived in Scotland during that time and they're like a decade behind (at least).

But, my older brother and sister left me a great record collection when they went off to college, so I got my 80's education eventually :)  My own favorites would be:

Can't go unmentioned:  Killing Joke's Eighties Plus, you might recognize the baseline...Nirvana used it in "Smells Like Teen Spirit", but Killing Joke ripped it from The Damned "Life Goes On"

Anything by The Police, perhaps Every Breath You Take which is mostly misunderstood as it's a song about a stalker :D

Any of U2's early work.  Pride is an interesting song, would even be considered "Christian Rock" if U2 wasn't so famous.

And a supposed influence on U2's sound and style, the guitarist from Public Image Limited performing Death Disco.  Warning:   The baseline will get stuck in your head.

Plus a host of others:  Madness, The Cure, The Smiths, Psychedelic Furs, Simple Minds (Don't You Forget About Me), New Order, The English Beat...
