Tracer.......its a bit over done dont you think
« on: February 27, 2001, 10:08:00 AM »
Hey all ive been with AH now not to long but i find it fun enough, still use WBH's as well waiting for WB3 to come out   see if its going to be any good.

Anyways, AH is fine and has some great additions over WB's but one thing its begining to anoy me. TRACER!!

At first i thought it was a really cool little addition, but after shooting down a few cons im rather fed up with it, why well..

As soon as you send a burst of fire you whole sighting area is com[plaetly obscuerd by tracer. This is anoying because i keep mising the delights of seeing the con break up and die in all its glory.

Couldnt they make the tracer less dence and more translucent? it is a bit on the thick side

It would be nice if on every 6th (or whatever round) round was a tracer.  Or have it set so that the user can set the frequency of tracers in the ammo belt.

Right now, every round acts as a tracer.  That is not accurate.

Setup>Flight>No Tracers on the clipboard (I think)

Karnak right now every 5th is a tracer.  I would be nice to be able to set the ratio, like everyone 10th round is a tracer etc etc.  And make it show only on your FE the ratio you set.  Everyone else sees the standard 1 in 5 if you have tracers turned on.  That way you could have every round as a tracer if ya wanted

Every round is not a tracer.  Do a quick burst on the ground, and you can easily see that they all aren't tracers.

Every round IS NOT a tracer, but there are way too many IMO, I have posted about this before, why not make it where you can choose how frequent tracer rounds are (like in real life) i.e
.tracer 6   (tracer every 6th round)
.tracer 15  (tracer every 15th round)
and so on.

it would be a nice addition i think.

Right now the only other option is to turn tracers COMPLETELY off which makes A2A much more difficult becasue there is NO indication as to where the rounds are going.
So as it is not yer only option is a screen full of tracers or none at all.

My perferred setup (p-51 with 6x50's) would be only having the inner 2 guns firing tracers, and have it 1 tracer for every 8 rounds.

Make the tracers more configureable PLEASE!!

No smoke trails! Mo' betta.

After all, not all incendiary compounds smoked up half the sky with the spiraling smoke coming through their vortex

Dunno, seen plenty of US and LW gun cam footage.  Plenty of smoke.

Funked is right..

Plenty of smoke from tracers in real footage.

I had a thread going long time ago about tracers, Pyro said that every 5th round is a tracer. As it was in real life.

Dog out..........

I find I have to turn tracers off in any AC with 6 or more guns, since I can't see my target at all with them. 4 or less guns is workable.

There are advantages to turning them off...You actually can spray around some while you lock in(In ac with large ammo loads) on an unsuspecting con before they break.

I agree that theres too many tracers..
tracer is thick enough to block visibility to the target sometimes.

I would like to be able to choose ammunition type as well...
AP/HE etc.
