Just bought me a newer car!

This isn't the exact picture, but it looks identical to what I'm picking up tomorrow.  2005 Escape Hybrid 4X4.. pretty much loaded down.. leather, etc.  It's used but in immaculate condition.. and we're getting it for $6000 below bluebook!  (They screwed up, didn't know it was a hybrid until after we agreed on the price... I wasn't in a hurry to tell them either.

If I hadn't worked on Hybrids before, I'd be leery, as this sucker acts like it's possessed!  The engine starts up and shuts down at will... I got it up to 30mph before the engine even kicked on.. Pretty crazy technology!

Oh.. did I mention 30+MPG (34 city, 30 highway)

The Escape uses the Toyota Hybrid system, which I have been driving without any problems in my Prius for a year now.

I hope the dealer honors the price they promised you.   I think many dealers would not do that, and would absolutely refuse to honor it.

My Nissan Pathfinder gets 12.5 mpg in the city, so your Escape has a slight advantage over it in fuel economy.

My Prius, though, gets 44 MPG in the city during summer, and 42 MPG in the city during winter.   It generally takes about 5 minutes of driving for the Hybrid system to warm up, and become fully efficient.   Winter gasoline here in the USA has a slightly lower octane rating too.   So your mileage later this year when it turns warm may slightly improve.
