I know AvA Staff must be busy, but...
« on: February 19, 2008, 03:23:46 PM »
Hi all!

Sorry, is there any possibility to know how many kills/deaths had each side in the 1st AvA War? If possible by fighters, bombers and vehicles?...

->running->

Thank you

I know skuzzys been making some new stat changes, but I don't know when it will be completed.  The current stats that show country vs country has been in 'coming soon' mode for about eight months now.  Once its up and running we could use that to gather stats.

To bad they couldn't just export a daily stat data file where others could import it into a database of their own choosing and use the data as they please.  That way the AH community 'do gooders' with time on their hands could write their own interface for stat searches.   However thats just wishful thinking...

I called skuzzy a while back to discuss options and it is possbile to do what they do in FSO.  However there is a custom program he wrote specificly for them and it's only available in that arena so it would have to be set up for the AvA to use.   A couple of issues were brought up using this.  One issue is that the logging does not have some of the things we were looking for at the time, followed by skuzzys schedule being booked for a long while so any changes would be a long way down the road.   Another issue was that the logging would need to be on 24/7.   I have heard from other staff members that this is something you don't want running all the time.  I think the FSO only turns this on during an event.  I mentioned this to Skuzzy and he didn't seem to concerned about it, but maybe he didn't understand that we needed it 24/7.   Anyway he mentioned that he is redoing the stats and will be adding in new features that should be useful.  He would like us to use this first to see if it meets our needs before doing anything else.   I do not know when it will be available though, so we will have to make due with what we have.

Hi all!

Thank you for your interest. I understand that in the grand order of things this is not a priority. Also, having a routine gathering data 24/7 is server demanding and a huge disk space consumer. Server time and space are valuable, they must be directed for what really matters.

Thank you, once again.

The stats page is available for everyone. Choose "all planes" vs "all planes" for an overview of plane kills. You can also break it down to individual analysis when choosing specific planes.

Sounds to me like it could be a useful tool in evaluating "Frame Loss"
and could be used to dish out potential "penalties" when those losses get to high.

Next tour ought to kick butt!

Thank you Lusche!

A big ! It seems that we share more interests than Early War machines and extreme ACM low and slow... :D

Hope to see you soon in AvA, for a change!

P.S.: what were we, in the last war?
