I was mixing it up in a furball off one of the island maps a couple years back. I was in a c205, and doing okay. There was about a sector's distance of ocean between our main continent-located airfield and the next island over with an enemy field. The fights were getting thick but staying over the water. Bombers, fighters, high, low, singles, multiples... The fight was just perpetual. I was flying there for a good half hour or more and had hotpadded a few times for ammo (stupid bomber! Take too much ammo to kill!!).
I was chatting with a pal on and off the whole time and base on our conversation he landed 5-6 kills and said "That's for you, krusty!"
It was such a nice gesture I immediately had to repay it. I had just taken off again, was heading out for who knows how many more sorties. My only damage was a hole in one wing. I turned around and landed 16 kills and said "That's for you
"
Giving up a streak like that just for the comraderie! I'm not saying the landing itself was all that great, the sorties mostly forgetable, but just the memory of sharing of good will between 2 pals is why I'll remember that one for a long time. Was a pleasant feeling.
