77th FS "Gamblers" Recruiting (ROX)
« on: February 20, 2008, 12:00:40 PM »
Hi!

The newly formed "77th Fighter Squadron "Gamblers" is recruiting.

This squad will be like only one knight squad has ever been in the past.  BTW, the 77th was an authentic squad and is one of America's oldest yet still active military squads...WWI to today.

This squad will, in league with multiple other squads (Precision, Pigs On The Wing, Claim Jumpers, Pigstompers, CHawks, and others) carry out "Mega-Missions" with 30-50 players taking bases and keeping them.  If you are purely a furballer, this squad is not for you.

We need players, especially North American time zones, who can be on 4PM EST and later, and participate on weekends.  All players world wide are welcome.

While there are no rules, we do have a few policies:

*  All squad members should be 21 or older

*  All squad members should fly with the squad for at least 2 weeks before a decision is made

*  All squad members should be willing to participate in "teamwork" operations

There will be multiple areas of expertice and many chances for promotion!  We will have positions for Fighters, Bombers, GV'ers, Jabos, and even a "Pork" division that will continually pork troops & ords up and down the front.  We'll need jrXO's in every area.

We are a knights squad (because all the other squads we will do Mega-Missions with are knights only), and squad channel is 170.  After we have 15 to 20 members we will vote on a squad night.

This is not a "score/rank" squad, and promotions are based on performance and leadership---not teacher's pets.  We need leaders, not suck-ups.

If being in a squad that believes in teamwork and takes a lot of real estate interests you please contact me in-game...in-game ID is ROX.  I am usually on evenings 4 to 7 PM Central (North America) time and a lot on weekends.

I'm fasinated that you'd make such a broad comment given your apparently limited time in the game. Just off the top of head both the 68's and MAW have filled the role you envision quite nicely for extended periods...

Best wishes for success BTW...

Was "ROX" for 9 years in Air Warrior...was in Iron Eagles & Pigstompers back then.  Was "ROX" for 2 almost 3 years with the Pigstompers in this game, and then "68ROX" for a year with the 68th.

The entire objective of this new squad is to actually out perform the two squads you mention, which I have HUGE and EXTREME respect for.  As you can tell, that is one monsterously HUGE GOAL.  It will take dedication, planning, hard work, training, mentoring, and recruiting people with talent and keeping them involved.

Sorry the new account threw you and a big Sir!

The 77th FS "Gamblers" welcomes 2nd Lt. Skrapper to the squad!  He's one heck of a bomber pilot and will be heading up our squad's Bomber Wing.  :aok

We're searching for cracker jack GV'ers, Fighters, and Porkers.  Yes, there will be a "Pork Wing" in the 77th...and suitable leadership talent to head up those wings.

We're also temporarily dropping the 2-week policy...just as long as you are on a full subscription and not the free 2-weeker, you can be considered.

Missions with multiple other knight squads will take place this weekend, so don't miss out on the fun!

See you on knights this weekend, channel 170!!

Thank you stodd!!!!!!!  <>

UPDATE:

The 77th welcomes 0100/O1Hundrd to the squad, he's PERFECT because he's a jack of all trades....he drops hangars with ease and then cleans up remaining cons like he's been doing it for decades.  <>

The 77th also welcomes chilidog!  With 14 years experience, chilidog has done it all.  With any luck, chilidog will accept a senior leadership position in the squad. <>

We're lucky to have them both!   <>

With the members we already have, there is already 31 years of combined experience!

If you are looking for a home...or your squad just isn't fun or working together anymore....look me up...knights, ch 170.

Spit16noob....check you PM box.

Ok folks...as promised, the 77th FS believes highly in inter-squad cooperation, and putting together some VERY FUN Mega-Missions.

Yesterday, the squad, together with Raccdogg's "Claim Jumpers", members of the 68th Lightning Lancers, CHawks, Damage, PigStompers, 44th, and about a half a dozen other squads got together and executed five Mega-Missions.

We took ALL five bases...and halted the rooks from winning the re-set.

It was a BLAST...and over 40 players participated in our "Alliance Missions."

If fun like that interests you, and you meet minimum requirements, JOIN UP!

We also welcome "HvyTankr" to the squad!

Rox,

My son was an actual "Gambler".  He flew F-16's for the 77th for two years, moved on to the "Fiends" out of Osan, Korea, then pulled a 3 year tour back at Luke.  He's now learning to make coffee for the Generals at Air Command & Staff.

Good luck to your new squad.

Thank you and <> to your son and you as well!

Sure, it's fun to have non-traditional names of squads...but I promised myself if I ever started my own squad that I would do some diligent research and find a real squad that kicked backside and took names.

Thee 77th has a GREAT record, going back to WWI, and their more recent service proved invaluable in Iraq.:aok

BTW: congratulations on his promotion...sounds like there are more ahead

The 77th also welcomes veteran AH'er co1amf to the squad!

My son was based out of Shaw AFB, SC with the 77th.  His C/O Col. Norman actually got a Mig kill during Iraqi Freedom.

When my son was based out of Luke, he was XO to the Wing Commander, BG Tom Jones.  He was attached to the Emerald Knights (forgot the squadron #) for flying purposes.

The Emerald Knights are the 308th, they are currently training with the newer block 40s F-16s.  What is your son name??? I may have ran into him.  I was a Captain over the 62nd FS (Spikes) just a couple months ago.

My son's callsign was "Spaniard".  He PCS'd from Luke in July 07 to attend ACSC.

Quick Update:

77th FS "Gamblers" welcome co1amf to the squad!  He's a crack gv'er as well as another jack-of-all-trades.  WTG co1amf Sir <>!!

This weekend we will be doing more ****Alliance Missions****, the best defence is an even better offense...so we will be working with a number of other squads and doing some pretty HUGE MISSIONS.

Please join us on Knights Ch 170!

We'll continue recruiting until we have three two full divisions, so we have a long way to go.  Plenty of opportunity for advancement, as well as plenty of chances for more recent subscribers to get mentored by seasoned vets to help YOU GET BETTER.

See you there!
