I'm getting tired of the "old" maps with totally unrealistic geography. 2k sheer drop ravines that have 2k sheer cliffs on the other side. Artificial 10k mountains around 90% of EVERY field (you know the map I'm talking about

).
I think these maps suck! While it's nice to go down nostalgia blvd (next to Memory Lane), we need to get back to maps with semi-realistic terrain, at least terrain that doesn't prohibit fights, which some of the old maps do.
I'm not saying I want a flat map or anything like that, I just prefer/crave/NEED a decent map that has terrain variation that's NOT totally artificial like the recent exhumation of old AH1-style maps.
Mindnao, now!
FesterMA, today!
Frac3, you'll see!
Trinity, baby!
Ndisles... uh.... er.... D'oh!
Baltic's not so bad, mind you, and I've seen it in rotation with the other maps I don't like, but it's a small map and folks want big ones.
Let's get back to the better large-sized maps. Why are they not in use? Is it a problem with updating the maps after the terrain object or terrain tile updates?
