Reworking Strat targets.

No first, replies please. I know this topic has been brought up before:) .I think apart from the damage model, the strat system in game needs a rethink.

Currently most factories are bundled together, far into enemy territory (as they should be). But the effect of hitting these targets seems to produce no immediate effect, unless the factories are heavily hit.

What I am hoping to acheive by this is to make strat bombing a more "useful" part of the game.

First off, all level bombers should only be able to drop after having been level for at least 20 secs. (Indicated maybe as BOMBS ARMED in the bombardier's text)

Next, lets change the flow of supplies a little. All supplies from factories go to a town. Each town supplies  two fields (personally thinking one A and one V field).Relocate map rooms to fields, and if both the airfield and the vehicle fields are captured, then the town is also overrun (bit like our zone system).

Tie the amount of supplies going to field to health of town. For e.g., if town is 50% down, only half the full supplies go to the field. When town is 100% down all supplies to the fields stop.Which translates as once something goes down it stays down unless, someone decides to manually fly supplies in from another field.

This will prompt attacking players to attempt to destroy the town first and then go attack fields. When the first of the two fields is captured, the captured field receives no supplies from the town, giving the defenders a chance to recapture their field.
Once the second field is captured, the town changes hands and now receives supplies from the capturing country's factories and resupplies their new fields.

Increase air defense on towns to maybe 10-15 guns. Increase number of troops required to capture fields. Also increase troop numbers on vehicles/airplanes to actual numbers they carried. Maybe then there will actually be a need to add a second troop carrier (players choice of speed vs numbers). I'm thinking about 40 for a capture.

Just my 0.02$.:aok

Too complicated IMHO.

I WOULD like (And im not sure if I have this right, ive only heard of it being done, never experienced) is factories for a certain aircraft, i.e. Spitfire factories and La-7 factories. Say, have a Focke Wulfe factory, a Supermarine factory, a Lavochkin factory and so on. The more factory you destroy, the more aircraft are down.

Say you bomb a supermarine factory. You take out 15% of it. The Spitfire mk XIV (The perked spit), becomes disabled. Take out 30% and both the XIV and the XVI go down. 45% disabled the VIII, 60% takes out the IX, 75% disables the V, and 85% and up disable all spitfires.

For aircraft like the Las, who only have 2 types, perhaps a certain ammount of factory destroyed adds a small perk to the 7, then disables the 7, perks the 5, and finally disables the 5.

Its just a though, I beleive something similar to that used to exist, and its a GREAT way to cut down on 'dweeb' planes. If youre tired of getting gang-banged by Spitties, bomb the factory! Kinda like real life...
