Not defending Sac1 or anything, that's between you and he, however, I met Sac1 at the con, he's a 50 something retired engineer (he had the 'pod' you see in the pics of the con) and a helluva nice guy.  He's humorous and I wonder how much of what was said was meant to be humorous?

Either way, I don't think he surfs the boards alot.

the less action the more animosity.   When someone fly's around for a long time doing nothing they are more easily pissed at every unfairness, real or imagined, that kills em.   It causes people to "play safe" which in turn causes less action and more animosity.  Soon... everyone is going with the safety of large numbers and the gangbanging causes even more animostity.  The busier people are and the more fun they are having the less animosity and the less gangbanging.

Rip:

Concerning Sac1...I dont care if he's humorous or how old he is, he needs to act his age.  The spurious comments he was spewwing was just above and beyond what one should have to tolerate.  I'm a pretty mellow guy and my good sense of humor was pretty taxed dealing with him.

Nuff said, make me a mission, Ill drive the goon

Lepaul, if you notice JV44 is down to 3 members now.  As far as sac1 is concerned we had our run ins with him the other night.  And grew very angry at this individual.  We are trying to take a base he is sitting at end of runway in a M3 vulching.  bradys M3 one of the troops gets killed, and he is screaming for one of the other 2 M3's to get to the map room, instead they sit there waiting for spawns fighters to get "guess what, yup you got it perk points".  Salute m8, least ya know we won't call ya anything, well nothing to bad

He who argues with a fool is twice a fool, LePaul.

You do not have to justify what you are doing to anyone. It's your time and money.
If accused, do not deny anything. In fact, agree to what they are saying and ask "what are you going to do about it"? Then tell them to get lost and squelch them.
If someone has to log-off in disgust, why should it be you?
Of course I am talking about jerks. The decent guys usually can make you see, if not agree with, their point and respect your choices.

Ain't that simple, Lazs. I can't tell you how many times I have had people accost me out of the clear blue for no particular reason. I can be having the time of my life 'til that moment, so frustration has nothing to do with it- at least not on my end.

Ripsnort is right. Sac1 is one hell of a nice guy. HT put in the squelch function for a reason. If you have a problem with someone use it. To come on the bbs and voice opinions about problems with players in general is one thing, to make it a personal attack by naming them directly is quite another.

as others have noted, i feel that is much easier to act all solid when online.  I dont think that many of the people who get all pissy (including myself) would be the kind of person to sweep the chess board off the table and shout "queen killing dweeb!" in real life.

the anonomous nature of the MA lends itself well to tirades and petty arguments.

I myself have had it out with sac1 before. I cant remember why. Im sure he cant either.  A week later we were chatting it up on the open channel like old friends.  Point is just ignore a person, he might be your wing mate someday

kieran.. there are of course exceptions.  some people will allways make excuses or get angry but... as a general rule animosity goes up when the action goes down in the main arena.   The "safer" people play the more animosity.  The safer people play the more gangbanging.   the more there is at stake when you die the more animosity.

<smiles...>  Thanks Daddog!  Congrats on a brand new baby girl too!

Sturm, have you considered joining up with us 332nd Mongrels?  Yourself, Wotan and Bradys5 would be great to have onboard.  I've really enjoyed assisting you guys in the few small assaults we've flown.

Daddog...I keep asking Michael (Hening) but no answers yet!  Keep the pressure on him!  LOL

It was so nice to accuse me of saying you jump sides for perk points.  I never knew you played on another side. I don't mind what you say about me as I have spent enough time in the military defending your right to do so, but please at least let it be the truth.  You're a good bomber pilot and I enjoyed missions we had in the past. If you want to squelch me that is your right. If I recall this all started because you had 3 cons on your six and you got pissed because I didn't come to help you. Not sure how I was suppose to because I have only been able to get my ost to fly once, and that was doing 70 mph down hill at fld 44.

When I play this game I give it my best like anything I do.  It might not be as good as others but it will be my best.

Now I do hope when you go to the con you set up at the end of the table so I can set my sim up next to you.

Yeah, yeah, maybe I'm reading too much into it. But still... erk.

Yea, you do need to say more. I have to wonder if you believe everything out of Clinton's mouth.  What I mean is that most every claim made in these chats is one persons side yet we jump on it like it is Gospel, the truth. Remember there is two sides to every story, my side, and the wrong side. I'm kidding.  When we get pisssed in this game we are each sure it happened just the way we see it.

Wow vulching in an M3, now you have to be kidding. Now I have fired an m3 after dropping my troops of and for one reason or another not all 10 made it in.  I have also sat at the EOR shooting planes in an ost because it was my only defense I had. It was my job at the time to keep the fighters down to allow the troops to ge in.It has never been for perk points. First off, I have never used a perk plane. There is only one thing I try to do when I play AH, get flds for knights.  No one likes to get to a fld to find hangers down and acks up it's frustrating, yet we each have reached the point where we get a bit angry.  By the way, how many kills did I have with the m3?
