The 'new' AvA
« on: February 25, 2008, 08:43:27 PM »
Guys, I don't want to start a flamewar or piss on anyone's cornflakes here, but IMO the AvA is a disaster.  Any semblance of civility or decent fighting is long gone, it's now a mini MA vulchfest HOdown.  Now the only thing left keeping me around is FSO, and I'm not sure that's worth fifteen bucks.

Seriously, what gives? What is the purpose of the way things are in the AvA now?  I really don't get it.

Flame away.

i think this AVA is great, keep up the good work hitech!! we had one guy who was Ho'ing us all the time and now he's become the object of JG-54's affections.
he'll soon learn that he doesnt want that.

We're having a great time and last night while everyone was ho'ing and vulching at 17, we marched in and took 31 and 19.

god bless their narrow, allied heads!!

If the allied side would get their act together and organize, they might actually do something.

if you dont like the ho'ing and vulching, move to a different part of the map.
if you are  in and jg54 or jg11 or the avengers are in, form up with them.

the trick is to go where the little ho'tards aren't. thats why we're winning and they whining.

smile, tomorrow is another day :)

Pff. I was getting vulched and HO'ed by JG54 like it was the new style last night. Try not to be too much of a hypocrite.

if you are getting vulched an HOed It's your own fault

when you die in this game don't point the finger of blame instead look at what YOU did wrong to get yourself killed

if you can't understand this simple truth you will never be more than mediocre at best

now  buck up and dry your tears

Ya when I vulched you (after being hoed by no less than 6 other pilots a 110 bleeding oil is like chum to sharks in there...) and saw an old name I recognized, I have to admit there was a twinge of guilt.

The AvA is different, that's for sure.  I wouldn't think of even coming within base ack during the old AvA, we'd just circle inside dar range waiting for uppers.  Now it's a dog eat dog world..pardon the pun.  Base capture is the objective now, rather than air combat.

Don't give up on it...it took 6 weeks or...however long the last AvA war was to get to where it is now. Believe it or not, it's actually improved quite a bit.

Unfortunately I think both sides are frustrated with the way things are going, but it's difficult to 'rise above' when you feel like your the only one towing the line.

I know totally what you're saying and I'm not blaming you, in order to survive in any arena, you have to be prepared to play against the lowest common denominator.  It just sucks that even the best sticks have to play the game in that way just to survive.  I expect that from the MA, not from the AvA.  Maybe I'll get used to it, but I'm not sure I want to, you know?  I play the game for fun, and if it's not fun (meaning air-quake), I'm not going to waste my time, I've got too much other stuff going on to spend time being pissed about crappy gameplay.

As for you 1redrum, your comment is extra-super-retarded-hypocritical in the context of your sig.

Just in case you didn't get it, the 'flame away' was a joke. No need to be a dick.
