There is no evidence to support that this is what the actual focus is going to be.

This news is purely wishful thinking by Islamic apologists.   The recently elected orthodox government in Turkey would never allow for such changes to be made.

Turkey is currently in the process of becoming more conservative, and not more western-like.

Depends which part of Turkey you are talking about. Istambul is hankering after European integration and business is driving it.

Modernisation is a positive step whichever way you look at it.

Pardon me but I am not going to hold my breath a bit waiting for them to join the 18th century much less the 21'st. Once they have made real defined progress I'll bother to notice but until something concrete is really achieved it's much like the election claims of "change" "vision" and so on. Talk is cheap, lets see some results.
