True, but lacking any other comparable data points you would need to compare their upbringings and accomplishments in young adulthood, prior to public service. Should I now attempt to view Obama as Lincolnesque? Will Obama free the white corporate slaves?
I am opposed to only about 93.62% of what Obama stands for: All I did was show that time in political office is not an absolute indicator.
Pile on all the stuff you want, I did not include that stuff in my argument.

Just for some more data points, Lincoln began his political career in Illinois, after being born in another state.
He was elected in 1834 and served for 8 years in the state legislature.
1841 to 1843, US House of Representatives.
1858 Runs for Senate (wins popular vote, loses anyway)
1860 Elected President

1996 - 2004 serves 8 years in Illinois legislature.
