I would like a Ju-52 so in the ever growing AvA (and SEA/FSO setups) I wouldn't have to fly a filthy allied plane.

I know it's been asked for, but you get unkind replies when you dig up old threads, and unkind replies for starting a new one.  As Tony Soprano would say...whattya gonna do?

The DC-3 (C-47) was built under license by the Japanese and operated by the Navy as the L2D "Tabby".

487 built.

So when you are flying a C-47, just think of it as a Japanese, hence Axis, transport. :p

I believe there is a japanese skin for the C-47, as well. Is it still there?

EDIT: P.S. You do realize the top speed of the Ju-52 is barely 150mph. None of this 230mph that most folks complain is too slow. Going that slow you couldn't evade much (no speed to bleed!). Overall it would round out the planeset, but it wouldn't be that great a performer.

I suggested in some other thread that its slow speed could be compensated e.g. by heavier payload, however I don't have any facts about differences between C-47 and Ju-52...

Still Ju-52 could be just as desirable troop carrier as C-47 if it carried e.g. 20 troops instead of 10.

They're about the same size. The Ju-52 was okay for its time, but I don't think it could carry much more than 10-12 paratroops. For the sake of this game it has to be 10 or less.

Hitech has said he can increase troop load to anything, but even if he gave us 1 plane that could carry 30 troops, he'd just up the map room requirement to 30 as well.

Leave it at 10, if ever included in AH. The defensive guns make up for the slower speed.

Well, the point of it would be explicitly to allow extra troopers on the slower plane without changing the capture requirements. A longer work session would be rewarded with a more secure capture... one could afford to lose a few troopers and still get the capture, or even be able to capture 2 targets with the same run.

Nowadays people do that by taking 2 or 3 goony planes at the same time. Ju-52 would be a real option to C-47 and it would meybe get flown as often as C-47.
The defensive armament would be just a curiosity in this kind of gaming environment, not a real benefit.

My book lists the JU-52 as having accommodation for 18 troops..

  Top speed 178mph

The JU-52 was used as a bomber at one time, wasn't it?  The spanish civil war?

If so,there's one optional loadout, just to spice things up a bit.

And Krusty...C-47 in Japanese skin is still here.
