Few:

- saw any action while being tested

Most that flew were:

- prototypes undergoing flight testing


Doesn't meet the criteria for AH:
- seen combat
- production aircraft
- squadron strength

It is indeed way cool, I saw one at the Smithsonian.  It was a beastly thing..by far the scariest aircraft on display.

Yup but it did prove itself with those few fighters that they built. They built the 262 instead.

I know they wouldn't put it in, but it would be a blast to fly it.

And as far as # go, I think they only made about 60 or so wirbelwinds and not alot more than that of Me 163s.

But the DO-335 came a little too late to really get into any significant production numbers.

The Germans were getting really far ahead of the curve by the end of the war.

If they had the chance to finish just half of the things they were working on, there probably would have been a much different outcome to the war.

I fly the Do-335 in IL2 alot......the model looks great! We have the 163 which was flown with only slightly more numbers and few kills.

There is a big difference: There was actually a squadron equipped with 163's and flying regular combat sorties, resulting in kills & losses.

There was no regular Luftwaffe unit operational flying the 335. The few planes that were build were mostly prototypes. There were a few frontline operational  testing flights, but then again, not by regular squadrons. No 335 saw actual combat.

I love that plane and would really like to fly it here... but it just doesn't qualfiy at all for AH2 :(

True Lusche but I wasnt comparing the way the numbers were being flown but in airframes built.
