Easier To Fly In Trial Version Than Paid Membership?
« on: February 28, 2008, 10:58:06 PM »
Sorry if this has been brought up before...yes I did a search. I have been using the trial offer for the past week or so. Today I went ahead and subscribed, jumped into a Spit VIII and right away it seemed different (more difficult) than flying the same aircraft in the trial version. Same thing happened when I jumped into a Corsair.

Is it just me or is trial memberships setup to make flying easier in order not to turn off potential customers?

Just curious.

It is just you. Same program, same settings.

We all have good and bad days, even good and bad weeks. One tour I excel, then I suck for days without end.

As Lusche put it, we have good days and bad. It could possibly be just the pressure that you're now paying for this game.

Sit back, relax, and try to have a good time. It's (mainly) A great community, no doubt in my mind. :)

Welcome aboard.
Check to see if you have combat trim turned off. It's on by default but you may have accidentally turned it off. The old sticks don't use it but you'll probably need it for awhile. Someone can tell you the key combination but there was a light on the instrument panel.
Easy in-game again.

Thanks for the info all. Hope you don't think I was complaining or trying to stir something up, was just curious. I do indeed have combat trim turned off but it was off while I using the trial as well. I have a Saitek X45.

Which reminds me, and maybe I should start another thread for this, but is there a way to import someones controller/key settings? Like if I found someone who also had a X45 and they sent me their settings for me to try...is that possible?

Thanks again, I have a lot of work and learning to do. Fun stuff!

Not a problem Supaf1y. Yes you can import settings. What you do is click start then my computer then click on C drive then program files then on the HTC folder Then on the AcesHigh II folder in there you will see a settings folder If you have another copy of this folder just replace it with the one you want. Also I find it a good idea to back up your old settings folder I just rename mine to settings B. Hope this helps and welcome to AcesHigh.

All in your head my friend,

Maybe you ran into some clueless dolts who made you look good.  There are enough of them ;)

Hang with the tough crowd and the game comes to a whole new level!

Also, learn how to get the most out of the view system including the 8-way hat switch and head positions.

Sounds good. Now I just need to find someone that uses a X45.

Good advice although I will be purchasing TrackIR soon as it seems to be a very nice tool to have in this type of sim.
