Virtually impossible to have a decent sortie now that I'm getting lockups and CTD's. This is ridiculous.  Patch 1 was PERFECT, patch 2 and 3 are nothing but trouble.

It's enuff for me to suspend my account, its that bad.  I know HT can't solve all problems, but soemthing happened with patch 2 which is causing them.

I have an Issue that froze AH on entrance, before even I could see the Arena list. It was due to Zone Alarm. Still have to see if 1.03 solved that.

Hope it helps.

Cheers,

Pepe

Ditto, none since. But I have heard of two poeple, Fscott and an AW guys trying out AH now that still have constant dumpes.

No idea what it could be. Not sure if there is a log file AH makes when it shuts down that could help these guys.

Have you tested without your customs sounds ?

Cause you have perhaps added a badly formed sound since the last release.
It has happend to me one time having a corrupted sound file and hop! => CTD

Westy i just had to do a fresh full reinstall of AH. the patch wouldn't let me use ANY plane offline. Now it CTD everytime i open AH. heres how AH is reacting for me since 1063. Open AH fly online No problems. open AH hit offline it freezes computer ( need hard reboot) open AH hit offline,, I can fly, change map from clipboard CTD! restart AH hit offline change map in clipboard no problems second time around, until i try to change a map. First try at changing a map is instant CTD, after that everything is ok.

One thing I do notice,,,,, there is another mouse pointer also in the screen,  One that i'm using and one frozen wherever the pointer was at the time AH started.

If so try disabling autostart or remove RW

same thing happened to me as what straffo describes (landing gear sound caused CTD).Its definately worth a totally fresh install remove everything and possibly download latest full version so theres no possible problems occouring with the updater.
Then post in the bugs or connection forum and i assure you you will get an answer from HTC staff or skuzzy.lephturn etc a lot faster than in here.

Good luck, it is a real pain when it goes wrong!I had 3 weeks of hell when i installed adsl with my Kt7aRAID mobo i can tell you,no AH for that lengh and your flying goes to pot

I'm using Saitek, right now the software is disabled, but I've been on the latest version with it enabled and disabled, no CTDs.

I agree with playing around with the RW settings to see if that has any impact.

Am using SGE 3.0 and DirectX 8 and have no problems(crosses fingers).  RW seems to cause alot of problems and suspect it anytime anything goes wrong.  RW for me freezes AH when I enter the arena. But once it is happy all is normal.

How about disable RW and do a fresh download of SGE, try it then enable RW.  Just a thought.

If that doesn't work maybe IE is corrupted.

Guys, this happened to me after version 1.03, I think it was. No matter how many patches came out, or how many times I uninstalled and reinstalled AH, my CTD's kept happening. After troublshooting for days, I gave up and did a complete rebuild of my PC, starting from Fdisk & format. That solved my problem. Instead of pounding my head against a brick wall, I just rebuilt the PC and everything worked fine.

Yes, a drastic step. But to save yourself some time and agony, you may want to consider it. Besides, a newly rebuilt image runs beter and faster in most cases. And it's also a good way to eliminate any old files and junk on your hard drive.

Think of it as an oil change for your PC.

What are your system specs?  Have you made any hardware/software/system changes in that time?

This might sound like a silly thing to do but...

Have you guys done a thorough scan disk and a complete defrag of your hard drive?  You should be doing that on a regular (at least monthly) schedule anyway.  More often if you install and remove software on a regular basis.
