Vista has hidden the files in a user related location on the hard drive.  You can fix this by re-installing Aces High II, right-clicking on the AH2113.EXE file and selecting the "Run as Administrator" option.

Then you will need to so the same thing everytime you want to run Aces High II in order to keep the files in the standard locations.

Basically, you are not the administrator for your computer anymore.  Whoever installed Vista for you is the administrator.  Vista has this new feature called UAC (User Access Control) which does all this.  It can be turned off, but only immedaitely after the OS installation or else things go South for the winter very quickly.

It's possible to gain ownership of Vista files even on OEM machines. That's what I do and after that you have better control over the files.

I did the PC build and Vista install myself so no idea on the Adminstrator settings, but seems straight forward as it's always been to manage security settings, view hidden files, and change file security attributes if you share the computer.

No big deal.

Well actually there is a big deal because UAC can at worst relocate or overwrite your files without asking permission to do that.

For example if you install a database app to programfiles and run it with UAC and without elevated rights, UAC will virtualize your databases to your user folder without asking or reporting anything. Then if you disable UAC everything works normal - but if it gets enabled again for any reason, UAC will overwrite all changes you made to the databases in programfiles, again without asking a thing.

UAC is worse than any virus I've had the mispleasure to deal with so far.

And it gets worse if you did not install Vista yourself.  As in any OEM computer purchase.  Talk about confusing people who are not computer geeks to begin with.  It's a mess.
