Seriously, Skuzzy- what was the point of letting us post again if the plan is to pull a mass ban? I understand you have the right to decide who, and who doesn't, get to post, but it's only a matter of time before NUKE or some other parolee says something inappropiate...and then we ALL get banned? That seems inherently unfair to me, and makes it pointless to post here if we're only here temporarily- it was nice seeing old friends, but if I'll only get banned again anyway- for the actions of others- then why bother?

The profile thread was great even if all you trouble makers get the boot in one swell foop. If that thread, which of course it was, by a recent returnee it's obvious they've been at least lurking here for some time and it seems Skuzzy is willing to look the other way when it comes to shades so no big deal.

Airhead, that statement was made before he made the "parolee" title. Since then he has banned a couple of "parolees", so I think he's not looking for a mass banning.

Iron, you're a bit off. Skuzzy has an ip filter in place that bans your ip address and then any subsequent IP address you might log on under. You could start up a shades, but you'd have to do it from a different IP address. Occassionally, people would find they've just been added to the ip ban list without being made "persona non grata". They just disappear as posters. I know of a couple of people that claim this happened to them.

So... skuzzy does not seem to be "tollerant" of shades accounts. He goes out of his way to ensure someone who's banned stays banned. He just can't stay on top of everyone.

I like Skuzzys sense of humor, even though the tought of it is emotionally and exceptually morbid.  Here is what I envision.

New Board.
Skuzz grants limited amnesty.
AH BBS Mariel Post Lift begins.
PNG Cells are opened.
Droves of PNG and Shades arrive enmasse.
Rules #1-14 are violated and Posting Crime rises.
Skuzzy pulls the Lever. Dozens disappear.
Sounds of gashing teeth and wild clawing heard from the Pits of PNG.
Skuzzy laughin spreads his Wings.
A New Dawn on the Horizon.

Moral of the Story:  Skuzzy Giveth and Skuzzy can taketh away.

MiniD, there have been at least a few who were banned but came back as shades and so long as they didn't flaunt it or cause the same trouble were allowed to stay. Some of these are well known by everyone. I find Skuzzy to be pretty tolerant in this and other respects.

Most of us have dynamic ip addresses so identfying us purely by ip address isn't sure fire.

Iron... the automatic IP banning script is fact. The only way someone gets a shades is if they use a different IP and handle, then skuzzy can be "lenient" if someone jumps through enough hoops. For the most part, though, the system is set up so he doesn't have to be.

Actually, Skuzzy has several different levels of "banning"

The IP ban is the most severe, but not the only thing he has used to ban someone. I know this for a fact, I am sorry to say. I have a static IP.

I think you are more lenient, but Skuzzy gives out better titles.  :D
