Okay, I know I have bad eyesight and slow reactions. I also know that I am guilty of not being able to see in three directions at once like some of the folks in here. BUT---

I have a lot of trouble staying out of the weeds and the surf because the terrain (and the water) looks farther away than it really is. Isn't there a way to fix this???

There are a couple of things I can suggest that may help.
Keep an eye on your Altimeter. It will give you a pretty good idea of how much room you've got.
When you notice that the altimeter reading is getting awfully close to the same height as the surrounding airfields keep an eye on the treetops. When you notice treetops at or above your canopy you've probably gone too low.

I have noticed that it becomes very hard to judge your alitutde when it gets dark in the MA.

I have no trouble at other times... just when it gets as dark as the MA goes.
